This guide will show you how to use NordPass on your desktop devices.

Installing NordPass
To start using NordPass on your desktop device, simply install our browser extension or desktop application using our guides:
Creating NordPass account
Once you have installed the NordPass browser extension or application, log in and begin using our service, or create a new account using our guide.
You will be redirected to the Nord Account website. Here you'll be asked to create your Nord Account or verify an existing account if you are already using other Nord products ( such as NordVPN or NordLocker). Additionally, you will create your NordPass Master Password.
Note: Your Nord Account password lets you sign in to Nord Account, which then gives you access to NordPass. Your Master Password is separate—it's what unlocks your NordPass vault so you can view and use your saved passwords and other items.
Adding items to your vault
You’re now ready to store your information in the NordPass vault. NordPass allows you to save various types of items, including passwords, secure notes, passkeys, credit cards, and contact Info. To manually add a new item, follow our guides:
For added convenience, you can automatically import items from browsers or other password managers, or upload a .CSV file. For more details on these processes, please refer to our articles on Importing and Exporting items.
Auto-saving
NordPass will also offer to save new login information to NordPass when you log in to an account that is not saved in NordPass. Click the “Save” button in the pop-up window to save your login details in NordPass.
Auto-filling
When you have logins saved in your NordPass vault, you will notice NordPass icons appearing in the login fields. Simply click on these icons, select the relevant login, and NordPass will automatically fill in your credentials.
Using NordPass suggested passwords
When you’re creating new accounts for online services, don’t forget to take advantage of NordPass’s strong, auto-generated passwords. If you opt for the suggested password, NordPass will prompt you to save it for future convenience.
