How to resolve NordPass Keychain Access prompts issue on macOS

Introduction

If NordPass keeps repeatedly asking for your Mac login password, the issue is likely caused by corrupted keychain entries. Removing these entries and allowing NordPass to recreate them typically resolves the problem. This guide will explain how to delete the existing NordPass entries from Keychain Access.

Here's what to do

  1. Close the NordPass desktop application.
  2. Open the "Keychain Access" application on your macOS device by searching for it with "Spotlight".
  3. In the left-hand sidebar, select the "login" button under the "Default Keychains" section.
  4. Next, select the "Passwords" tab, located at the top.
  5. In the search field in the top-right corner, search for "NordPass".
  6. Select all NordPass entries that appear by holding the Command (⌘) button - make sure you delete every NordPass entry, not just one.
  7. Right-click the selected items and choose "Delete".
  8. Reopen NordPass and sign in again.
  9. If the NordPass items won't delete, or the Keychain prompt continues to appear after completing these steps, contact Customer Support so we can investigate the issue further.

Additional Tips

  • Deleting the NordPass Keychain items will log you out of NordPass, so you'll need to sign in again afterward. This should only be necessary once.
