Introduction
This guide will show you how to use the Rooted and Jailbroken device blocked feature.
Before you start
By default, this toggle is set to OFF, which means that any rooted/jailbroken device will be prevented from accessing the app in order to protect sensitive data by preventing app usage on devices that pose a higher security risk.
When the app launches, it checks the settings. If that toggle is OFF (the default), and the device is detected as rooted/jailbroken, the user sees a full‑screen "Unsupported Device" error and cannot proceed.
If you wish to get more information, check out our guide on NordPass Rooter and Jailbroken device blocker feature.
Here's what to do
However, if you wish to allow jailbroken or rooted devices to access the NordPass application in your organization, follow these steps:
- Log in to the NordPass Business Admin Panel as the organization's Owner or Admin.
- Next, click on the "Policies" button on the left side.
- Scroll down and enable the toggle button for the "Allow jailbroken and rooted devices" option.
- Afterward, the NordPass app completely bypasses root detection and allows both rooted/jailbroken and non-rooted/non-jailbroken devices to access the app normally.
