Introduction
This feature allows NordPass Owners or Admins to control access to the NordPass app on rooted Android devices and jailbroken iOS devices. It helps protect sensitive data by preventing app usage on devices that pose a higher security risk.
The feature is available for Android app versions above 5.2 and iOS app versions above 4.3.
What can I do with the rooted/jailbroken device prevention feature?
- Block access to the app on rooted Android and jailbroken iOS devices.
- Allow or disallow such devices using a single toggle in the Business Admin Panel.
- Automatically display an unsupported device error when access is blocked.
- Log any changes to the setting in the activity log.
Note: We recommend checking out our guide on how to use the NordPass Rooter and Jailbroken device blocked feature.
Why use the rooted/jailbroken device prevention feature?
- Rooted and jailbroken devices have a higher risk of data leakage, app tampering, and security breaches.
- Blocking these devices helps maintain the integrity of the application and protect credentials.
- Centralized control in the Admin Panel makes it easy to enforce organization-wide security policies.
- Automatic removal of sensitive cached data (such as biometric data) further reduces security risks when devices are blocked.
