What is sharing and how to share items?

NordPass has a feature that lets you share your saved information with other users. This attribute lets users have access to the same logins, passkeys, secure notes, credit cards, or personal info without having to put it into their vault manually.

That being said, please keep in mind that sharing items is only possible for premium NordPass service users. The time-limited sharing feature is available to all plans except for free users. Free users can still access the shared information, however, they are unable to edit it so that the other user would see the changes. The differences will be seen only to the free user.

To share any login, passkey, secure note, credit card or personal info item, just click the 3 dots that appear when your mouse pointer hovers over the item and click Share as shown in the picture:

Once you enter/select a single or multiple recipients, you'll be able to configure what permissions they have to that shared item by selecting Can autofill.

Configuring the permissions next to Default sharing settings applies them to every recipient of the item you are sharing. If you'd like to configure the permissions for each of the recipients individually, click Can autofill next to one of them.

You can also configure the expiry time of the shared item by clicking on the clock icon. To set the expiration time for all of the recipients, configure it next to Default sharing settings.

To configure the expiration time individually, click the clock icon next to one of the recipients.

Once done, click Share.

The sharing state will change to pending until the recipient accepts the shared item. Once the item is shared, the recipient will receive a notification and will have to accept the shared item to have access to it.

After completing these steps, the item will be reachable to both users. All edits from the premium users of NordPass will be seen instantaneously by all users.
