Problem
If you've forgotten or haven't saved the Recovery codes and Master Password you used to access your NordPass account, you'll need to reset your recovery code using biometrics—either a face or fingerprint scan.
Common symptoms
- When you try to log in with your Master Password, you get the error message “Incorrect Master password. Please double-check and try again.”
Troubleshooting
- Log in to your NordPass application. When biometrics are enabled, you can log in without entering your Master Password.
Note: Biometric unlock is available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS applications, as well as the NordPass browser extension.
- Click the "Settings" button in the upper-left corner if you are using a Desktop application. If you are using a Mobile device, tap on the "Profile" button and select "Settings".
- Scroll down to the Security section and tap the "Reset Recovery Code" button.
- Next, tap on the "Reset" button.
- Confirm your identity with your biometrics or Master Password.
- Afterward, you will receive your new Recovery code. Click on the "Done" button to save the changes.
Additional Tips
- We recommend downloading your recovery code as a PDF and storing it in a secure location only you can access, such as a private cloud folder, so you can retrieve it anytime.
- If you can't remember your Master Password or recovery code and don't have biometrics enabled, please follow our guide to reset your NordPass account.
