Problem
If you've forgotten or haven't saved your recovery code and master password used to access your NordPass account, you'll need to reset your recovery code via biometrics—either with a face or fingerprint scan.
Common symptoms
- When you try to log in with your master password, you get the error message “Incorrect Master password. Please double-check and try again.”
Troubleshooting
- Log in to your NordPass application. When biometrics are enabled, you can log in without entering your Master Password.
Note: Biometric unlock is available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS applications and the NordPass browser extension.
- Click the "settings" button located on the upper-left side.
- Scroll down to the security section and click on the "reset recovery code" button.
- Next, click the "reset" button.
- Confirm your identity with your biometrics. Afterward, you will receive your new recovery code. Click on the "done" button to save the changes.
Additional Tips
- We recommend downloading your recovery code as a PDF and storing it in a secure location that only you can access, such as a private cloud folder, to ensure you can retrieve it anytime.
- If you can't remember your master password or recovery code and do not have biometrics enabled, please follow our guide on how to reset the NordPass account.
