Introduction
The Items Transfer feature allows NordPass Business organizations' Owners to transfer items of deleted members to themselves or other members. This feature will guarantee that important organizational items are not lost if an owner of the items decides to leave the organization or is removed.
This guide will show you how to transfer or delete items of a deleted member.
Here's what to do
Transferring items to a new owner
- Log in to the NordPass Admin Panel as an Owner or Admin.
- Click on the "Members" button, located on the left side.
- Next, select the "Deleted" tab, choose the member you want, and press the “Three-dots” button next to the member’s email address.
- Choose a member from a list and select the "Transfer" button to make them the new owner of the items.
- A new folder named "Transferred, [Date]" will be created in the new item owner's vault, containing all transferred items.
- If you have transferred a shared folder, it will be transferred to a new owner without any changes - the new owner will receive a notification in their vault informing them that ownership of the shared folder has been assigned to them.
Deleting items of a deleted member
- Log in to the NordPass Admin Panel as an Owner or Admin.
- Click on the "Members" button, located on the left side.
- Next, select the "Deleted" tab, choose the member you want, and press the “Three-dots” button next to the member’s email address.
- Click on the "Delete items" button, located next to the deleted member's email address.
- Afterward, click on the "Delete" button to confirm your choice.
Additional Tips
- Only the organization’s Owners can reassign or delete items of deleted members. Owners cannot see what exact items the deleted member had or choose specific items to transfer/delete.
- If the deleted user had more than 2100 items, the option to transfer them would not be available.
- If no action is taken, the deleted user’s items will be automatically deleted after 730 days. After that, it will not be possible to recover the items.
- Items in Trash will be transferred and will be visible in the new owner's Trash folder.
- If the item you own was shared, those users will still retain access to it, but the item will have a new owner.
- Even if the user owned no items and only empty Shared Folders, they will still be transferred. In this scenario, the Owner/Admin will see 0 as an item count.
