Introduction
This article explains how to set up user provisioning in the NordPass Admin Panel using Microsoft Entra ID. Follow the steps below to configure automatic user and group provisioning for NordPass.
Here's what to do
- Go to Microsoft Azure and log in.
- Select “Entra.”
- From the left sidebar, select “Enterprise apps.”
- Click “New application.”
- Select “Create your own application.”
- Enter a name for the application, select “Integrate any other application you don't find in the gallery (Non-gallery),” and click “Create.”
- On the application page, select “Users and groups” from the left sidebar and add users.
- From the left sidebar, open “Provisioning” and select “New configuration.”
- Go to the NordPass Admin Panel.
- Click “Integrations”.
- Select “Microsoft Entra ID.”
- Click “Get credentials.”
- In the new window, note the “Tenant URL” and “Secret token.”
- Return to the Entra ID provisioning configuration.
- Paste the “Tenant URL” and “Secret token” into the required fields and click “Test connection.”
- After the connection check is complete, select “Create” and wait until you are redirected.
- Open the “Provisioning” menu and expand the “Mappings” and “Settings” tabs.
- Skip this step if you plan to use Group Provisioning later for automatic group creation and member assignment in NordPass.
If you do not plan to use Group Provisioning but still want to use Entra ID groups to manage user assignment, select “Provision Microsoft Entra ID Groups,” set “Enabled” to “No,” click “Save,” and confirm by clicking “Yes.”
- Leave the rest of the settings as is.
- Go back to the “Overview” menu.
- Click “Start provisioning.”
Additional tips
- Users will receive an email invitation within a few minutes to complete their NordPass registration.
- The Entra ID provisioning cycle runs every 40 minutes, so invitations for newly added users may take some time.
- You can use the “Provision on demand” option to make an Entra ID request to NordPass faster.
