A linked app or browser is a NordPass application or browser extension configured to unlock the user’s Vault without the Master Password. It uses an application key stored on the device and may require biometric, device unlock, or PIN confirmation, depending on organization settings.
The first linked app or browser is set up during user onboarding or when existing users switch from Master Password to Linked app or browser Vault unlock. Organization settings may enforce additional biometric confirmation when accessing NordPass via the linked app or browser. If not enforced, users can enable biometric protection in application settings.
Note: The linked app or browser unlock method only grants access to the NordPass application. Owners and Admins can use the Linked app or browser for Vault unlock, but they will still need the Master Password to access the Admin Panel.
