Use biometrics to unlock NordPass on desktop

You can enable biometric login for your NordPass account on desktop devices, using Touch ID on macOS or Windows Hello on Windows, as an alternative to entering your Master Password.

Note: Biometric unlock is temporarily not supported on the Windows application, however, you can use Windows Hello to unlock new NordPass extension. 

Unlock standalone extension

Biometric unlock is not yet available on Firefox macOS.

Open NordPass extension and select Settings. 

Switch on Unlock with Touch ID or Unlock with Windows Hello. In this step you might see a pop-up in your browser when setting up biometric unlock for NordPass. It is a part of the biometric unlock setup in NordPass. Select Continue in the pop-up to enable biometrics. 

Now, to unlock your NordPass vault without entering the Master Password, simply click the Touch ID/Windows Hello button and use the sensor.

Unlock macOS application

Open Settings in your NordPass application and switch on Unlock with Touch ID. Enter your Master Password to confirm. 

Now, to unlock your NordPass vault without entering the Master Password, simply click the Touch ID button and use the sensor.

• Follow the steps below to use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock NordPass iOS app. 
  
  

  1. Open the NordPass application.
     
     
  2. Go to the Menu and open Settings.
     
     
     
     
  3. Enable Unlock with Face ID or Touch ID. This depends on your device's model. 
     
     
     
     
  4. Enter your Master Password to enable biometric unlock.
     
     
     
     

• Follow the steps below to enable biometric unlock on Android devices: 

   

  1. Open NordPass Android application.
     
     
  2. Tap Menu and select Settings.
     
     
     
     
  3. Tap Unlock with biometrics.
     
     
     
     
  4. Enter your Master Password.
     
     
     
     
  5. Confirm biometrics.
