How to clear browser cache

Introduction

This guide will explain how to clear your browser’s cache in order to fix display glitches, load the latest version of a site, and free up storage.

 

Here’s what to do

Google Chrome/Brave

  1. Open the Google Chrome browser and click on the “Three-dots” button, located at the top-right corner.

    Note: The Brave browser will display the “Three-lines” button instead of the “Three-dots” button. 
     
  2. Next, select the “Delete Browsing Data…” button.
  3. Alternatively, enter “chrome://settings/clearBrowserData” in the search bar and press “Enter”.
  4. Choose a time range and the “Cached images and files” button.
  5. Afterward, click on the “Delete data” button.

 

Firefox

  1. Open the Firefox browser and click on the “Three-lines” button, located at the top-right corner.
  2. Select the “History” button and click on the “Clear recent history…” button.
  3. Select the time range from the drop-down menu, and check the “Temporary cached files and pages” option.
  4. Next, click on the “Clear” button.

 

Safari

  1. Open the Safari browser, and click the “Safari” button, located at the top-left corner.
  2. Next, select the "Clear History…" button, and choose the desired time range from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the "Clear History" button.

 

Opera

  1. Open the Opera browser and click on the “Three-lines” button, located at the top-right corner
  2. Scroll down and click on the “Clear” button, located in the “Privacy & Security” section.
  3. Alternatively, enter “opera://settings/clearBrowserData” in the search bar and press “Enter”.
  4. Select the time range from the drop-down menu, and check the “Cached images and files” option.
  5. Click the “Delete data” button.

 

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open the Microsoft Edge browser, and click on the “Three-lines” button, located at the top-right corner.
  2. Click on the “Settings” button, and choose the “Privacy, search, and services” option, located on the left side.
  3. Click on the “Clear browsing data” button, and select the “Choose what to clear” option.
  4. Select the time range from the drop-down menu, and check the “Cached images and files” option.
  5. Click on the “Clear now” button.
