Set up 2FA with NordPass on Microsoft

Introduction

In this article, you will learn how to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) codes with NordPass Authenticator for your Microsoft account to enhance account security.

 

Before you start

  • The feature is available in the Android and iOS mobile apps and the NordPass standalone extension.

 

Here's what to do

  1. Log in to your Microsoft account.
  2. Open the “Security” tab and select “Two-step verification”.
  3. If prompted, verify your identity using a code sent to your email.
  4. Scroll to the “Additional security” section and click “Turn on” under Two-step verification.
  5. Select “Set up a different Authenticator app”.
  6. Open the NordPass app, find your Microsoft item, and select “Edit”. If you don’t have a saved login, create a new item.
  7. Select “Add Two-Factor Code” and scan the QR code displayed on the Microsoft website (or enter the setup code manually).
  8. Enter the 6-digit code generated by NordPass and select “Next”.
  9. Save your recovery code.
