Attach files to NordPass items on Mobile

Introduction

File Attachments is a NordPass Premium feature that lets you securely attach files (including photos and documents) to saved passwords, secure notes, contact info, credit cards, or passkeys. This stores files in your encrypted NordPass vault, keeping them safe and easily accessible whenever you need them.

Before you start:

  • Maximum file size: 50 MB and up to 50 attached files per item.
  • Storage: 3 GB per NordPass Premium user.
  • You can upload any type of file.
  • Files can be uploaded one at a time.
  • You cannot share items with attached files, nor add files to a shared item.
  • If your subscription expires, all attached files remain accessible and can be downloaded; the Free version cannot upload new files.

Here's what to do

Add file attachments to your NordPass items

  1. Open NordPass and open the item to which you want to add an attachment.
  2. Tap the “Attach File” button.
  3. Select a file you want to attach. You might need to provide NordPass with access to your photos or camera first.
  4. Wait for the upload to complete. If the upload is successful, your attached file will appear under the “Attachments” section on iOS or “Attached files” on Android.

Download files from NordPass to your device

  1. Open NordPass and tap an item with attachments.
  2. Tap the “Download” button and select the location where you want to save the file on your device.

Delete files from NordPass

  1. To permanently remove a file attachment from your NordPass item, open NordPass and open the item with attachments.
  2. Select the “Delete” button. The file will be permanently deleted right away.
  3. Tap “Delete” to confirm.

When an item is moved to the trash, all its attachments are also moved with it. You can then choose to restore or permanently delete both the file attachments and the rest of the item's information.

Additional tips

  • Ensure you are online when attaching or downloading files.
  • Verify successful uploads under Attachments (iOS) or Attached files (Android).
  • Keep file sizes under 50 MB and monitor your 3 GB storage limit.
  • Remember that items with attachments cannot be shared.
