How to approve account recovery for organization member

Introduction

This guide will walk you through approving a member’s Account recovery. This action allows members to regain access to their NordPass account.

Here's what to do

  1. Log in to the NordPass Admin Panel as the organization Owner and select the "Members" button on the left.

Note: This action is not available for users with the Admin role.

  2. Select the “Recoveries” tab.
  3. Locate the member who requested to regain access to their NordPass account. You will see the information about which decryption method the user has and is requesting account recovery with:

  4. Click on the "Approve" button.
  5. If a user requests account recovery with a new app or browser, verify the app or browser and device information and select the "Continue" button.
  6. No matter which account recovery method is used, a 4-digit code will be displayed; you must verify that this code matches the one held by the organization member to confirm the user's identity
  7. When the account recovery is approved, the user will be notified that they can now access their vault with the new Master Password, or the linked app or browser.

Note: When denied, the account recovery request is deleted. The user will be notified that the request was not approved. A new request can be sent at any time.

Additional tips

  • If no action is taken within 5 days, the account recovery request will expire, and the user will be notified via email.
  • If a user had a Recovery Code saved, it becomes invalid after account recovery. The user can get a new Recovery Code from the NordPass app on the device where recovery started.
