Introduction
After 36 months of not using your free NordPass account, it will be automatically deleted to comply with GDPR guidelines, ensuring data minimization and privacy protection. Encrypted data in your NordPass Vault (and other data linked to the account) will be deleted and won’t be recoverable.
Note: You can find more information in our Terms of Service under the Dormant Account Policy section.
Here’s what happens
If you want to keep your NordPass account, you must show at least one of the following actions at least once every 36 months:
- Sign in to your NordPass account.
- Use NordPass while signed in — for example, autofill, viewing, adding, editing, or removing items in your Vault, or any other in-account activity.
Note: As long as you have an active Premium or Family subscription, we will not consider your account as dormant.
Before an inactive account is deleted, we send three warning emails:
- First notice: 3 months before deletion
- Second reminder: during that 3-month window
- Final notice: 3 days before deletion
Note: If you’d rather not retain your account, you don’t need to do anything.
