How to set up the Master Password

Introduction

This guide will explain how to create a Master Password that will be used to unlock your vault.

Note: Be sure to remember or securely store your Master Password, as you won’t be able to access your NordPass vault without it.

 

Here's what to do

  1. Download and install the NordPass application or extension on your device.
  2. Open the application and click the “Log in” button.
  3. Log in to your Nord Account.

    Note: Nord Account supports multiple accounts. To make logging in easier across multiple accounts, simply select the “Add another account” button.

  4. Enter your Master Password, confirm it by typing it again in the next text field, and press the “Create Master Password” button.

 

Additional tips

  • Generate a Recovery Code as a safety precaution in case you ever lose your Master Password by following our guide.
  • We recommend not reusing the same password. Make sure your Master password is different from your account password.
