How to take a screenshot on macOS?

During troubleshooting with our Customer Support team, you may be asked to send a screenshot of, for example, an error message on your device to help diagnose the issue. Below, you can find a relevant tutorial on how to make and upload screenshots on your macOS device.

To take a screenshot on your device, please follow these steps:

How to take a screenshot of your entire screen:

  1. Press and hold these three keys together:  Shift, Command, and 3.
  2. After the screenshot is taken, you can find it either in the corner of your screen. Or wait till the screenshot saves to your desktop.

How to take a screenshot of a portion of your screen:

  1. Press and hold these three keys together: Shift, Command, and 4. The pointer changes to a crosshair.
  2. Select the area with crosshair you wish to take a screenshot of. After it, the screenshot can be found either in the corner of your screen. Or wait till the screenshot saves to your desktop. To cancel taking the screenshot, press the Esc key

If you're contacting our Customer Support team, you can attach the screenshot file as an attachment in the letter, as you would with any other file.
