Introduction
This article explains how to deploy the NordPass browser extension through Microsoft Intune across your organization.
By managing the NordPass extension for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox browsers, you can ensure consistent, secure, and seamless password management for all users while simplifying IT administration.
Here's what to do
Chrome and Edge browsers
- Open the Intune Admin Center and go to “Devices”.
- Select “Configuration” under the Manage devices section.
- Click "Create", then select "New policy".
- Choose Windows 10 and later as the platform.
- Select “Settings catalog” as the profile type, then click "Create".
- Enter a name for the profile and click "Next".
Note: It is recommended to include the browser name in the profile name.
- Click "Add settings".
- Choose the appropriate browser:
- For Chrome:
- Select “Google”, then “Google Chrome”.
- Click “Extensions”.
- Choose “Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions”.
- For Edge:
- Select “Microsoft Edge”, and click “Extensions”.
- Choose “Control which extensions are installed silently”.
- For Chrome:
- Enable the selected setting using the toggle button.
- In the value field, enter the following line:
eiaeiblijfjekdanodkjadfinkhbfgcd;https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx
- Click "Next".
- On the Scope tags tab, click "Next" without making changes.
- In Assignments, click "Add all devices", then click "Next"

- Review the configuration and click "Create".
Deploy the NordPass extension for the Firefox browser
- Download the Firefox ADMX template from GitHub.
- Open the Intune Admin Center and go to “Devices”.
- Select “Windows”, then click “Configuration”.
- Click "Import ADMX", then select "Import".
- Upload the required ADMX and ADML files (for example, mozilla.admx and mozilla.adml), then click "Next".
Note: Upload both mozilla.admx and firefox.admx files. Repeat the process if additional languages are needed.
- Review the information and click "Create".
- Click "Create", then choose "New policy".
- Select Windows 10 and later as the platform.
- Choose Templates for the profile type and select “Imported Administrative Templates (preview)”.
- Click "Create".
- Enter a name for the profile and click "Next".
Note: It is recommended to include the browser name in the profile name. - Navigate to “Mozilla” then “Firefox”.
- Select “Extensions” then “Extensions to install”.
- Enable the setting and enter the following URL in the text field:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/nordpass-password-management/latest.xpi
- Click "OK".
- On the Scope tags tab, click "Next".
- In Assignments, click "Add all devices", then click "Next".
- Review the information and click "Create"
Additional tips
- Use separate configuration profiles for each browser to simplify management.
- Clearly name each profile to make browser identification easier.
- Allow time for Intune policy synchronization before verifying extension deployment.
