Introduction
The Sharing Hub feature is available only for NordPass Enterprise plan organization’s Owners on the Admin Panel. The user who creates the organization becomes its owner by default; more owners can be added later. The Sharing Hub allows you to control all Shared Folder type folders and all shared items - control which users and groups have access to them, control their permissions, and transfer ownership if needed.
In this article, you will learn how to use the Sharing Hub feature for the NordPass Enterprise plan.
Here's what to do
How to filter shared items
After selecting the Sharing Hub tab, you can filter out categories, person or group, and member status. By default, the view is arranged in descending order, with folders being first.
Once a person or group filter has been selected, a fourth option to filter by permission will appear.
How to view the shared list
- In the Sharing Hub, you will be able to see such information next to each Shared folder:
- Folder’s name.
- How many items are in the specific folder.
- Last time the folder was edited.
- Who is the folder’s owner and with whom the folder is shared, represented by a picture/avatar.
Note: Hover over the avatar/picture to display the full email address.
- Additionally, once you click on any of the pictures/avatars, the complete list of users with their rights will be displayed.
How to give access to a User/Group
- Access the Sharing Hub, and click on a person’s avatar/picture.
- In the search box, select the user or a group to whom you would like to give access.
- In permissions, define edit, share, view, or autofill permissions that are given for a user or group.
- Confirm your decision by clicking on the “Share” button.
Note: Sharing is available only at the top Shared folder - you cannot share a specific subfolder or item within it. When a top Shared folder is shared with a user or group, they gain access to all content inside, including subfolders and their items. User and group permissions are inherited from top to bottom.
How to change permissions
Organization owners can change the permissions - the ability to edit, share, view, and autofill. In order to change permissions of the Shared Folder, follow these steps:
- Access the Sharing Hub, and click on a person’s avatar/picture to open the full list in edit mode.
Note: If the same icon is selected inside the Shared folder, it will be opened only in view mode.
- Click on the "Permission" button, located to the right of your chosen person or group.
- Choose the permissions - the ability to edit, share, view, or autofill by selecting your chosen option.
How to transfer ownership
In order to transfer the ownership of the Shared Folder, follow these steps:
- Access the Sharing Hub, and click on a person’s avatar/picture to open the full list in edit mode.
Note: If the same icon is selected inside the Shared folder, it will be opened only in view mode.
- Click on the "Permission" button, located to the right of your chosen person or group:
- Next, select the "Transfer ownership" button.
- Afterwards, select the "Transfer" button.
Note: The Organization’s owner user can transfer ownership only at the top Shared Folder level - subfolder ownership transfer or item inside of it is not allowed. Once ownership transfer is confirmed, the new owner owns the top Shared Folder and all its subfolders and items. If the ownership of the top Shared Folder changes, the previous owner will retain editing rights.
How to remove access
If you wish to remove access to the Shared Folders, follow these steps:
- Access the Sharing Hub, and click on a person’s avatar/picture to open the full list in edit mode.
Note: If the same icon is selected inside the Shared Folder, it will be opened only in view mode.
- Next, locate a person or group that you would like to remove access from, and press the permissions button, located to the right of it.
- Afterwards, select the "Remove" option.
- Press the "Remove Access" button to confirm your decision.
