Introduction

Email Masking is a premium NordPass tool that allows you to create alternative email addresses linked to your NordPass account’s primary email address. Also known as email aliasing, email masking protects the main email address from unwanted spam, phishing, or other forms of online abuse. The tool generates a disposable email address in NordPass that forwards emails to your primary email inbox.

This guide will explain how to set up the Email masking feature.

Here's what to do

Personal account

  1. Open NordPass application, browser extension, or WebVault.
  2. Select the "Email Masking" button at the bottom of the navigation menu.
  3. Here, you will see a list of all your masked emails. Click on the "Create Email Mask" button if you wish to create additional masked emails.
  4. If you wish to stop forwarding from the email mask, click on the specific email mask from the list and switch the forwarding toggle.
  5. If you wish to delete an email mask, click on the specific email mask from the list and click on the "Delete Mask" button.

Note: Do not mark the emails coming from email masks as spam, as that may end up blocking the service from sending emails to your inbox altogether.

Business account

  1. Log in to the NordPass Business Admin Panel as an Owner or Admin.
  2. Next, click on the "Policies" button, located in the settings tab on the left side.
  3. Afterward, select the "Email Masking" button.
  4. Choose whether you would like to enable the policy for everyone, owners, admins, or users only, by enabling the "Toggle" button next to your chosen option.
  5. In addition, you can select which individual members have this policy applied to them at the bottom of the page by enabling the "Toggle" button next to a specific email address.
