How to disable Chrome password manager on Android

Introduction

This guide will show you how to disable your Google Chrome browser password manager.

 

Here's what to do

On Chrome version 135 or later

  1. Tap on the three dots menu and open “Settings”.

  2. Scroll down and select “Autofill services”.

  3. Select “Autofill using another service”. You will be asked to reload your browser.

On Chrome versions 134 or earlier

  1. Tap on the three dots menu and open “Settings”.

  2. Select “Password Manager/Passwords”.

  3. Disable “Save passwords”.

  4. Go back and select “Payment methods”.

  5. Turn off “Save and fill payment methods”.

  6. Go back once more and select “Addresses and more”.

  7. Turn off “Save and fill addresses”.
