Over the past few months, we’ve been working behind the scenes to create an exciting new browser extension experience that will mean you can enjoy all NordPass has to offer without needing to open our desktop app.
That’s right! Soon you’ll be able to book trips, shop online, and log in to your social accounts using just our extension. Don’t worry – the desktop app isn’t going anywhere; this change will just mean that the extension will operate independently of the desktop app so you can enjoy a smoother experience online.
Ahead of the extension release for all Chrome, Firefox, and Safari users, we’re conducting a beta test of our Chrome extension to collect feedback on its performance.
Based on the feedback we receive, we’ll be able to fine-tune the extension so that we can offer everyone the best possible NordPass experience.
What is a beta test?
Before releasing a new or updated product to the market, companies often run beta tests to allow a user base to evaluate the product’s performance. This level of collaboration benefits everyone because users get a first glimpse of a developing project, while a company gets real-time feedback on areas that might require tweaking.
How can I participate in the NordPass Chrome extension beta test?
- Fill out the beta test registration form.
- Check your inbox for a confirmation email containing steps on how to install the beta extension.
Important: If you’re currently using the NordPass extension for Chrome, make sure to turn it off before using the newly installed beta extension.
- Once the beta extension is installed, log in to your NordPass account and use the extension as often as you like.
- When you’re ready to leave some feedback, share your thoughts via this form.
- If you leave feedback by the time the beta test finishes in January 2023, you’ll receive 6 months of NordPass Premium for free as a reward.
Who can participate in the beta test?
Anyone with a NordPass account using the Google Chrome web browser can take part in the beta test.
How long will the beta test last?
The beta test will begin in mid-November 2022 and will run until the end of January 2023.
How can I share my feedback?
All beta testers can share their feedback with us via this form. The form can also be accessed via the Share Feedback button within the browser tab view of the beta extension.
What kind of feedback should I leave?
Key areas of the extension that we’re looking to collect feedback on include its speed and how it performs in the new full-screen or browser tab view.
When leaving feedback, all testers are encouraged to be as descriptive as possible so that we can look into issues straight away. One way to make your feedback more valuable is to attach product logs so that our team can instantly pinpoint where a potential issue has occurred.
Will I receive anything for taking part in the beta test?
Yes, you will receive 6 months of NordPass Premium for free at the end of the beta test if you’ve sent us your feedback. In order to make sure the reward reaches you, please include your email address in both the beta test registration form and the beta test feedback form.
How can I leave the beta test if I no longer want to participate?
If you’d like to leave the beta test early, all you have to do is turn off the beta extension and install or turn back on our existing extension.
Please note: If you leave the beta test early without providing feedback, you will not receive 6 months of Premium for free.
So if you’d like to play a role in shaping the future of NordPass on desktop, register for our beta test today – we’d love to hear what you think.
